2011 Volunteer of the Year - Angela Roden
Originally from Milbank, Angie has called Brookings home for the last 24 years. She is the youngest of seven kids, which gave her and her siblings many opportunities to put on plays, skits, and concerts for her very patient parents. She was very active in all aspects of theatrical productions at Milbank High School, and was awarded with an Outstanding Contribution to Drama award when she graduated. Angie attended Lake Area Vocational and Technical Institute in Watertown for cosmetology. When Pam Merchant told Angie about BCT, she knew she wanted to be involved in any aspect of the productions – especially in using her hair styling and make-up application skills backstage. She has expanded into working on all aspects of BCT: directing, acting, set painting, props, publicity and make-up and hair. Angie and her husband David, own Allegra Design, Print, Mail in downtown Brookings and have two daughters- Liz a junior at SDSU and Abby a senior at BHS. She also serves on the boards of the Brookings Arts Council, BHS Choir Boosters, Brookings Business Builders and Downtown Brookings, Inc. Angie loves being a part of BCT, and hopes to continue her involvement for many years to come.
