2010 Volunteer of the Year - Meg Thomas
Meg attended Deubrook High School, Waldorf Jr. College, and Augustana College, majoring in History and English. After a year of teaching school and 4 years in the Army, she moved back to her hometown, Toronto. For the past 28 years, Meg has worked in SDSU’s Financial Aid Office. Since Meg’s favorite course in college was Shakespeare, and her answer to the question: “What one book would you want if shipwrecked?” is The Complete Works of William Shakespeare, it won’t surprise you to know that her first BCT play was A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Although her only theartre experience was two one line parts and a little backstage help in high school, she loved every minute of her first BCT production. One surprising thing she did learn was that her set changes between scenes and during intermission are not as invisible as she thought – part of the And Then There Were None audience thought she was the murderer! Theatre people are like no other people in the world – their enthusiasm and energy are contagious. Meg hopes to continue her backstage assistance as long as possible!
